Stamped Pattern Backgrounds with My Favorite Things

Hello My Creative Peeps! Lately I haven’t been using much patterned paper, instead I have been creating my own patterns. Today I have 2 different cards using 2 different stamp sets, both from My Favorite Things. On both these cards I’ve stamped in Memento Desert Sand Ink and stamped onto my Copic Xpress it Blending Card.

Card 1

I just eyeballed my stamping I didn’t stamp using any guides or rulers. But I did try to keep them evenly spread apart and in somewhat of a pattern. The card with the ball is from the My Favorite Things Stamp Set Hey, Sunshine. This is actually a Pure Innocence Set and the beach ball is just an accessory. I recently did a tutorial on the Pure Innocence Hey Sunshine girl, you can check it out HERE!

For some dimension I used my My Favorite Things Sunshine die and some fun foam for my sentiment. I used my Copic Markers to color the balls and to create the water background. Here’s the list of colors I used.

Ball – N0, C00, BG13, BG11, BG10, BV02, BV00, BV000, Y35, Y02, Y11

Water – B00, B000, BG11, BG10

Card 2

This next card I’m using the Stacy Yacula Picnic Pals stamp set. This time I stamped all my critter stamps in all directions. I think the trick to creating this type of pattern is to turn the stamp in all directions, stamp off the paper and stamp each image one at a time starting from biggest to smallest. This way you can try to keep the same images at an equal distance apart.

After I colored all my images I did use my Copics to create the faded bluish background. The way I do this is to scribble the darker color in in between the stamped images, then take the lighter color and go back over the entire background being more precise around each of the stamped images. Here’s the full Copic Marker color list.

Raccoon – C00, C0, C2, C4, C6, C8

Chipmunk and Squirrel – E0000, E30, E31, E33, N5

Watermelon – R32, R35, R37, N5, YG00, YG13, YG17

Basket – E0000, E30, E31, E33, BV04, BV02, BV00

Bucket of Apples – N0, N1, N3, R30, R32, R35

Background – BG10, BG0000

After I colored my image I used my Calming Aqua Nuvo drops and made big and small drops throughout the entire background.

I hope you enjoyed my Stamped Pattern Backgrounds with My Favorite Things post today. Happy Creating!
