Simple Card-Making Techniques you can do in less than 5 minutes + Pretty Pink Posh Release Hop

Hello my creative peeps! Today I’m joining Pretty Pink Posh in their new release blog hop! This release is so much fun I really enjoyed creating with them. I’ve made a few different cards using different techniques. They are Simple Card-Making Techniques you can do in less than 5 minutes. These techniques always wow me and I hope you feel inspired after seeing my post!

There are 4 $25 gift certificates up for grabs (two winners each day). Winners will be picked randomly along the blog hop. Leave your comments by 11:59 PM PST on 5/8/2019. All winners will be announced on the PPP blog.

All of my images are Stamped in Memento Black Ink and stamped onto Copic Xpress it Blending Card using my Mini Misti! I use my Tim Holtz Glass Mat to color on, which helps my Copic Marker ink blend just like butter!

Technique #1 Use up your scraps!

I made these adorable little 4×4 note cards using the new Pretty Pink Posh Stamp Set Animal Signs. I wanted to add some color to these cards but also some texture, so I cut strips of scrap paper from my stash and adhered them strips to my card base in rainbow order. This is such a great way to use up your scraps and small pieces of cardstock. I love the texture you get, too. You can get even more texture if you put the strips on some pop dots.

Copic Colors

Giraffe – E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, E23, E25, N1, N3, N5

Koala – N1, N3, N5, R32, R30, R01

Technique #2 – Create your own Patterned Paper.

For this next card I’m using the little flower from the Elephant Friends Stamp Set and stamped in my Distress Oxide Inks, Mowed Lawn, Scattered Straw and Tumbled Glass. I make sure to stamp in all directions and make sure I stamp off the cardstock, too. For a little extra texture and dimension I used my Glossy Nuvo Drops – Calming Aqua and added little dots all in between my flowers. I used the bow from the New Father’s Day Stamp and Die set but I used the bow for the baby elephants head. I love when stamp and die sets are so versatile.

The scalloped circle is also from Pretty Pink Posh, it’s called Hugs Shaker Die. I cut out the ‘hugs’ part and using it for another card.

Copics Used: N1, N3, N5, R32, R30, R01, E000, Y21, Y26, Y28, E13

Technique #3 – Cut up your Distressed Backgrounds

Pretty Pink Posh now has stencils! Woo hoo!!! I just love this little bow stencil that I used with my Moonstone Nuvo Paste. First, I sponged my Distress Oxide Inks, Mowed Lawn, Scattered Straw and Tumbled Glass then placed the stencil over the background and applied the paste. I wanted to break up the background a little so I just trimmed it up in random places before adhering it to my card base.

Copics Used: N1, N3, N5, R32, R30, R01, E000,

Technique #4 – Sponged Background to create a Scene

For this next card I sponged my grass using my Distress Oxide Inks and sponged the sky using my Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink. You can sponge lots of different background scenes, with hills, grass and even water.

I’m using the stamp set Elephant Friends along with the Elephant Friends Coordinating Dies. I stamped the Big Hugs sentiment in White Ink and embossed it with White Embossing Powder to make it stand out.

Copic Markers used: Copics Used: N1, N3, N5, R32, R30, R01, E000, E13, YG13, YG17, Y21, Y26, Y28, B95, B14, B12, B00

Technique #5 – Sponged Background  with Stencil and Nuvo Paste

Isn’t this background gorgeous? I love the almost magical look of these 3 Distress Oxide Inks, Stormy Sky, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire. I used my Moonstone Nuvo Paste on the  brand new Graduation Stencil. There’s also a New Graduation Stamp and Die set which I also used on my card.

Copic Markers used: B97, B95, B14, B12, B00, N0, N1, N3, N5
