NEW Scrapbook Series – My Creative Layouts
Well, hello there my crafty friends! I’m starting a new series for all of you scrapbook fans, or if you’re looking to start scrapbooking. Every month I’m going to share a couple of simple layouts along with a page sketch to give you some inspiration. I’m calling the series My Creative Layouts!
I’ve been patiently waiting to share the news but I’ve joined the Jillibean Soup Design Team! Woohoo! I’m so excited to be working along side of these talented ladies!
I absolutely love scrapbooking and have always been so overwhelmed with doing it because of the gazillion pictures I have. So, I’m simplifying my strategy. Instead of trying to make all of these layouts with photos I’m taking one or 2 photos to highlight that day or event. Like I’ve done with this photo from last fall.
Simple means I’ll get it done! YES!
I’m using the Farmhouse Stew Kit by Jillibean Soup. This is one of my favorite kits. I had so much fun creating this layout.
I take all my stickers and destick-ify, yes I have made up my own lingo, by taking some baby powder or cornstarch and brushing some on the stick side of the stickers. This way I can use my favorite — POP dots! This adds so much dimension to layouts and for those of you who use stickers on cards, too!
Here’s my Page Sketch for you to be inspired by.
About the photo: Every year we go to Riley’s Farm which is an Apple Orchard up in the mountains. There are little sections of the town with shops, restaurants etc. Just about everything is handmade — so you know how much I can appreciate all that! This is a photo of my hubby and I walking around the orchards. The next layout I share will be with my kiddos. We all love coming here every year and even my 19 year old son can’t wait to go. I hope we keep this tradition up for a LONG time and maybe even one day bring my grand kids here!
I’m really excited about sharing my layouts on the blog, which I really haven’t done. I hope you all like this series. I’ll be creating some layouts incorporating stamping and Copics, too!
