Lion Copic Marker Tutorial with Gerda Steiner Designs

Today I’m guest posting over at Gerda Steiner Designs. Don’t you just love their stamps? Of course I also have a Copic Marker Tutorial to share with you all, as well. I’m going to show you a Lion Copic Marker Tutorial. You are going to love it! I’m using the new stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs, Party Animals.

I stamped my image with Black Memento Ink onto Copic Xpress it Blending paper.

Copic Markers Used:

  • Lion – YR14, YR15, E33, Y17, E25, YR12, W7, E17, E31, W5, W3
  • Grass – G82, G21, G24, YG97
  • Ground -E0000. E10, E31, E33
  • Sky – BG000 B0000

Step by Step Lion Copic Marker Tutorial

We need to add some W7 to the center parts of the main, since our outline is black.

We want to color the lion’s body solid, we will be adding some textures so we don’t have to add very many details in our coloring in the body. Just some E33 on the outer part of the head, under the main, and right above the feet on the leg — to make his paws look like ther casting a shadow on the legs.

Now, go back with the E33 adding some dots and textures.

Now add a little bit of W3 on the bottom of the eyes, making them have more dimension.

After I colored him I did my grass and dirt like I always do, you can see a tutorial – HERE. You can also check out my Dot Sky which you can see a tutorial HERE.
