How to Color a Cat using Nuvo Alcohol Markers
Hello there my creative peeps! Today I’m sharing a card using this adorable little kitty from Tonic Studios, the stamp set is called Kirby and Lulu’s Wash Day. There’s so many cute little images in this set. This set is perfect for coloring, too! Which is right up my alley! I’m going to share How to Color a Cat using Nuvo Alcohol Markers!
I stamped my image in Memento Black ink and stamped onto my Copic Xpress it Blending Card. I haven’t had a chance to purchase any of the Nuvo Hybrid Ink pads yet but I have personally tried these ink pads with alcohol markers and they do not blend or smudge. So these would be perfect for some stamping and coloring.
Which colors to use to deepen shadows?
I’m using some oranges to color my kitty and then some browns to deepen the shadows. I always try to add that extra bit of depth to my coloring and to do that you can use grey and brown. Which color do you use and when, you ask? Well, if you are coloring with pinks, oranges, and yellows then you will use a brown to deepen the color. If you are using reds, purples, greens, blues then you will use a grey to get that extra depth.
Here’s a list of the Nuvo colors I’m using on my card.
- Pinks – 449, 451
- Oranges – 393, 391, 389
- Yellows – 405, 403, 401
- Purples – 437, 439
- Beige – 475, 473
- Brown – 461, 465
- Green – 417, 413
