Easy tips on coloring water using Copic Markers

I’m so excited to share this card with you today.. and to share some tips on coloring water using Copic Markers. I wanted to use this Whale from Lawn Fawn for the longest. I decided to go out on a limb here and create my own waves and splashes freehand! No stamps.. no stencil. I took a pencil and drew some wavy lines and water drips coming out of them. Super fun challenge to challenge yourself doing these little techniques and I just happened to like it enough to put it on my card.

The tip when creating waves is to darken the the waves on the bottom and leave white along the top. Outlining in that bold deep blue color on the one side of the drips really accents the water and adds a shine to it. Check out some of the pins in my Copic Pinterest Board.

Speaking of shine. When coloring something with so many layers of colors, you might have saturated your paper that you might not have any white left. Which is OK! I simply took some white acrylic paint and a very fine paintbrush and added more white to my image. Then very softly I added small dots to look like water is spray coming from the white areas. SUPER fun!
