Creating Shadows using Copic Markers

It’s time for another post with my super duper cute stamps by Tammy Tutterow Designs. I’m using the stamp ‘Joy to the World‘. I wanted to focus on shadows on this post because I get so many emails about where to add shadows. If you know my coloring you will see I actually left this image very flat. I didn’t add very much definition into the the world, heart or the star. But what really makes this image pop is the fact that I defined just around the the green ornament, on the 2 ornaments behind it. This little bit of definition behind the green ornament makes a huge difference and really makes it seem like the green one is in front of them.

A few weeks ago I did a blog post on STOP trying to find the Light Source — you have to color in a way that just makes sense.

Copic Marker List:

  • BG10, BG11. BG13, BG15
  • E44, E43, E42
  • G20, G21, G24, G85
  • C6 – for Shadows
  • R35, R37, R39,

I used my Marvy White Gel Pen to create my sparkles. Everytime I use this pen I always say how much I love this pen.. it’s because it’s so awesome!!! It’s got so much ink and it’s still juicy! I would have gone through at least 3 pens in this time I’ve used this one. It’s seriously a MUST have!

So this isn’t just a card. It’s actually a little mini album and would look adorable as an ornament on tree, too. This is one of Tammy Tutterow’s new Die sets from Spellbinders. IT’s called Shapeabilities Shortie Tags. ITt’s such a cute set and you can change out the design of the bottom part, too. Super fun to use!
