Create a Glow using Copic Markers

What’s up my crafty peeps! Today we are going to Create a Glow using Copic Markers. This new Tammy Tutterow Christmas Tree Stamp is PERFECT for this technique! I LOVE it and all of her other Christmas Stamps, too!

So the trick to creating a glow is concentrate on coloring along the outside of the stamp. I decided to go with the BG02 because I love this color especially for my Christmas Tree colors. So let’s gather our Copic Markers and get to it!

  • Copic Markers used:

  • BG02, BG0000, B00
  • G20, G21, G24, YG97, YG95
  • E39, E37, E33

After you use the 3 blues, or your 3 ‘glow’ colors we are going to start coloring the tree. I;m using the same technique I use when I Color Fur with Copic Markers. If the tree would have been more of a realistic looking tree I would have done little flicks for the tree. I started with the lighter color, G21, and worked my way up the darker colors, focusing the darkest parts not so close to the lit bulbs.

After you have done all of your dots, then do one swipe over using G20, or your lightest color, blending all of those greens a little bit.

I went back over one more time using my YG97 being very precise about my dots and making a lot of them. Then, to make those bulbs glow even more I took my Marvy White gel pen and added lots of little white dots in the bulb and the glowing area.
