Combining Copic Marker Class Backgrounds to create different scenes is something that every card-maker should be doing. Most students will sign up for a course and take once and then it sits there. But if you take an Online Copic Class that has multiple backgrounds – or if you’ve taken multiple background courses, you take 1 thing you learned from a few courses and apply those techniques to one card.
Benefits of Combining multiple Copic Classes:
- You’re getting the most out of your class investment.
- You are attempting to design something on your own.
- If you use different colors you can change up the different seasons.
- Gives you confidence to get out of your comfort zone.
The scene from this Birthday Card using Rachelle Anne Miller Digi Stamps, Catching Butterflies image, I’m actually combining the 3 backgrounds from my All Occasions Card-Making Online Copic Training Course.
Sentiment Bundle is INCLUDED in the course which is has 12 different sentiments – an all occasions bundle.
Dimensions of a slimline card: 7 x 8.5 and scored at 3.5. My image cardstock size is about 1.8 off so I can get a nice border around my image with the card base.
I printed my Catching Butterflies digi stamp on my Copic Xpress it Blending Card.
NEED HELP PRINTING?
I get a lot of questions regarding printing digis and what kind of printer.
I use a laser jet HP but you don’t have to have a laser printer. BUT, I used to have an inkjet printer that I printed my digis out on for years — and it worked just fine without the ink running onto my Copic nibs.
Not all printers are alike so I always suggest to people — use your heat tool for a few seconds to set the ink if you are worried about the ink running or if you have had a problem with your ink running.
The 3 techniques I used from my All Occasions Class :
- From the Deer + Bunny card I’ve used the sky and sunray techniques.
- The Animal Parade Card I’m using the tree technique.
- From the Balloon Ride Card I’m using the grass and houses techniques.
The possibilities are seriously endless when you combine all of these different scenes and using different combinations of them can really give your cards all a very unique look.
Changing the colors up to make to get the most out of your coloring class investment. I can easily re-create the card I made today and use all grey Copics for the grass and leaves to create a Winter wonderland and color the image in blue hues.
So, once you have finished an Online Copic Class a fantastic way to get even more out of it and to start “thinking outside the class” and change up the colors .. and combine different backgrounds!
